Market Share Report Results

View/Adjust Criteria

The summary at the top of the page shows the parameters of your report. From here, you can click View/Adjust Criteria if you wish to change anything on the report. You will be taken back to the Market Share form, where your current parameters will be displayed. Please note that if you applied any filters to your report, they will display in the “Filtered by” field of your criteria summary.

To navigate through the report, you can click the Page links to skip directly to the page you want, or use the right and left arrow buttons to move back and forward one page at a time. To change the number of rows displayed, click the Rows per Page drop-down list and select the number of rows you wish to see.

The Data

Based on the criteria you have selected, you will see either subjects, formats or time frames as columns. You will also see Units Sold, Value Sold (List), ISBN Count and a percent market share (%) column under each subject, format or time frame. The % column will appear to the right of the data you have chosen to rank your results with. Please note that if you ran a Market Comp report for a multi-week period, rather than a single-week period, the ISBN Count column will display as Average Weekly ISBN Count. This is due to the fact that we can’t sum the total ISBN count for multi-week periods as the data will carry over from week to week. We instead included an Average Weekly ISBN Count column as an indicator of the number of books that meet the criteria of the report you pulled. If you ran a Lifetime Market Comp report, there is no ISBN Count column at all. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to us at salesdata@booknetcanada.ca.

If you chose to run a Publisher Market Share report, you can select any of the listed publishers to open each individual publisher's Imprint Report. Similarly, if you chose to run a Distributor Market Share report, you can select any of the listed distributors to open each individual distributor's Publisher Report. In both cases, the same search criteria you originally selected will be applied to the correlating Imprint or Publisher Report.

Your market share reports will automatically be sorted in descending order by rank. Clicking any of the column titles (Units Sold/Volume Sold/ISBN Count/%) once will sort the table in ascending order by the values in that column. Clicking twice will sort the table in descending order by the values in that column. You can also select the Publisher/Distributor/Format/Subject column to view your report in alphabetical order.
