Reporting Bibliographic Errors
On the left-hand side of any Single ISBN report, you will see a summary of bibliographic details for that title.
To patch a record, or to correct any of the fields in the bibliographic record, click the report a bibliographic error button at the bottom of the bibliographic summary.
A pop-up window will open, where you may enter the correct information into the relevant text box, or select a different option from any of the drop-down menus. If you don't find an option you are looking for, or you have questions or notes about the urgency of the correction, please use the Notes field to convey the details.
To submit the changes, click Submit. To close the page and return to the Title/ISBN report without sending the correction, click Cancel.
Once a correction is submitted to BookNet Canada, it enters a review process. The review process is usually completed within 24 hours and the correction approved or questions sent back to the person who reported the correction. Any correction approved and displayed in SalesData can be overwritten by daily bibliographic data feeds from R.R. Bowker Books In Print, the supplier of bibliographic data to BNC SalesData.
Bibliographic correction requirements
- The ISBN field is the only field that cannot be edited.
- You must include a list price and a publication date to submit a correction.
