Errors and Warnings: Suppression Requests
The following is a complete list of the possible errors and warnings you may encounter while submitting a Merge Request.
Validation Errors
Validation Errors are any error messages that will appear in the Validation column as you add ISBNs to your table on the Submit Suppression Request page.
A yellow-highlighted message is a Warning, meaning that there is a potential issue with the ISBN Suppression Request that you should look over before submitting your request. You will still be able to submit your Request with the Warning present.
A red-highlighted message is an Error, which will prevent you from submitting your Suppression Request until the Error has been fixed. Please see the table below for further details.

The ISBN provided does not have any bibliographic data in our records, and therefore cannot be selected as the primary ISBN. For more information on how to provide bibliographic data for this title, see Reporting Bibliographic Errors. | Warning when a request includes an ISBN that does not have bibliographic data. | You will still be able to submit your request even if a record is missing bibliographic data. If you would like to add the bibliographic data, you can do so through SalesData. Please refer to https://booknetcanada.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UserDocs/pages/54100591 for more information regarding missing bibliographic data. |
The ISBN provided has a past Publication Date. | Your request includes an ISBN with a past publication. Remember, MBLT only accepts Suppression Requests for ISBNs with future publication dates. | Cancel request.

ISBN <ISBN> is already included in an existing suppression. | The request includes an ISBN that was already submitted for a Suppression Request, whether by you, another user on your account, or an external user to your account. The MBLT cannot accommodate 2 Suppression Requests at once with the same ISBN. | Cancel request. If you’re trying to make a change to an existing Suppression Request, you will need to delete the original Request. To do this, click “View/Delete” in the Actions column on the View Suppressed ISBNs page, followed by “Delete” on the View/Delete Suppression Request page. |
Error Messages
Error Messages are messages that will appear at the bottom of the page in red above the “Submit” button on the Submit Suppression Request page.
Please note that as you address the errors, the messages will automatically disappear from the page. You will not be able to submit your Request until these messages are no longer appearing. Please see the table below for further details.
