BiblioShare Webform allows you to export your catalogue's data in one of two ways:

  1. Export as an ONIX record in XML format

  1. and download to your computer.
  2. Export your data directly to BiblioShare.

You have two export options from Webform: you can export a Full record, or a Delta record. A Full ONIX record is, In both of these cases, there are two options for exporting your data: a Full record or a Delta record.

  1. Full record is (predictably) a full record of all the bibliographic data in your catalogue.

  1.  record contains only a select portion of your data. For example, you can export an ONIX record for all the titles by a particular author or even just a single title.

Exporting a Full ONIX record as an XML

  • Click the Actions dropdown drop-down menu and select Export selected titles to ONIX 2.1.
  • In the pop-up that appears, click OK to export all titles. The file will save automatically to your computer.
  • The entire catalogue that you see in the Manage Titles screen will be exported downloaded in XML format.
  • The file will be named "PublisherName_Full_YYYYDDMM.xml" where "Full" indicates that this ONIX record consists of your entire catalogue as it exists in the Webform.

Exporting a Delta ONIX record as an

XML file

  • Select your titles in one of two ways:
    • Through Advanced Search:
      • Click the Advanced Search button.
      • Enter
    the
      • criteria for the specific titles
    that
      • you want to export as a Delta record.
      • Click the Search button.
      • A list of results matching your criteria will be seen
    below the search panel
      • on the Manage Titles screen. Adjust your search criteria if necessary.
    • Selecting titles manually:
      • Alternatively, you can also select the boxes next to each title you want to export from the Manage Titles screen.
  • Once you have selected all the your desired titles, click the Actions drop-down menu and select Export selected titles to ONIX 2.1. 
  • The file containing the titles you have selected will be exported as an XML file and saved automatically to your computer.
  • The file will be named "PublisherName_Delta_YYYYDDMM.xml" where "Delta" indicates that this ONIX record consists of a partial selection of your catalogue as it exists in the Webform.

  • Click the Actions drop-down menu.
  • If you have BiblioShare access, then you will see an option to Export titles to Biblioshare BiblioShare - <YourBiblioShareAccountName>.
  • Select this option and the Webform will automatically transfer your entire catalogue to BiblioShare.
  • Note: Records edited in the Webform will replace the any existing BiblioShare records.

Exporting a Delta ONIX record to BiblioShare

  • Use the Advanced Search panel and above  Select your desired titles using the above Exporting a Delta ONIX record instructions to create a delta selection.
  • Click the Actions drop-down menu.
  • If you have BiblioShare access, then you will see an option to Export titles to Biblioshare BiblioShare - <YourBiblioShareAccountName>.
  • Select this option and the Webform will automatically transfer your ONIX record to BiblioShare.
  • Note: Editing the record and re-sending it Records edited in the Webform will replace the any existing BiblioShare record with the new onerecords.
