In each of the catalogue views, we’ve added Copy (blue star) , Move (blue star) , and Delete (blue star) buttons for you to use when managing your catalogue items.

The Copy button replaces the “Add to catalogue” button that was previously used in catalogues.

Entirely new in this release are the Move and Delete buttons, which allow catalogue creators and collaborators to move titles from one custom catalogue to another, or to delete titles from catalogues directly from the thumbnail, scroll, and grid views.

Your editing permissions for seasonal and custom catalogues determine which actions you may perform.

Note

The delete action deletes the title from the catalogue, not CataList. If you are a publisher and wish to remove your title fully from CataList, see Removing titles from CataList.

Act on multiple titles

Image Removed

You no longer have to add titles to catalogues one at a time! Instead of repeating the same set of steps for each title, use the checkbox next to each title to select all the items you wish to add to a catalogue, then click the Copy or Move icon in the floating menu.

Tip

Tip

You can select or deselect a range of titles. Click the checkbox that will be the start of the range, hold down the Shift key, and click the checkbox that will be the end of the range.

When selecting multiple titles, you can switch between the three catalogue views without losing your selections. You can also drag the menu to another location on the screen or minimize it to suit your workflow.

A new look to the “Add to catalogue” tool

Along with the new copy, move, and delete features, we’ve also changed the layout of the “Add to catalogue” dialog. The layout is uniform across the site, with one key addition that is available to users working in custom catalogues.

When you are in a custom catalogue and copying or moving titles, you can choose to include the titles' suggested order quantity with your action. To do so, select the “Include suggested orders with copied titles” checkbox when choosing the catalogue that you are copying or moving the title to.

Other changes in this release

  • Updated the design of the “Add to catalogue” button to match the new Copy and Move menus.

  • Added a link in the confirmation messages that display after the user copies, moves, or adds a title to a catalogue. It will direct the user to the catalogue they had chosen for their action.

New filters in Quick Search

Image Added

When using CataList’s Quick Search, you can now pre-filter your search results to return only products in either print or digital formats.

Exact search using double quotes

Image AddedImage Added

Use quotation marks (“ “) around your search term or phrase to find an exact match.

In the Quick Search bar, the quotation marks indicate that you are looking for an exact match to your search phrase in titles or series names; contributor names; BISAC or Thema subjects; publisher, imprint, or supplier names.

This is especially useful for cases where:

  • Your search terms include few, short, or common words. Example: ““As You Like It”

  • You’re searching for a phrase with repeated words. Example: “There There”

  • You want to specifically include the title prefix to limit your possible matches. Example: “The Help”

  • You do not want to wildcard at the ends of your search terms. Example: You want to see matches for “dragon” but exclude dragons, dragonbreath, dragonheart, etc.

You can also use quotation marks in Advanced Search fields to find exact matches for your Boolean search terms.

Custom catalogue filters for publishers and sales representatives

Image Added

Publishers and sales representatives have a new set of Advanced Search filters. You can now limit the search results to items that are in your own private custom catalogues, that are in your account’s collaborative catalogues, or alternatively the title that are not in any type of custom catalogue.

You can multi-select these filter options. When multiple options ar selected, the system uses an OR logic when returning matches. So if you select the two options: 'In my private catalogues'; and, 'In collaborative catalogues', the system will return all titles that are in at least one of the two catalogue types - not only the titles that are in both types.

Other changes in this release

  • The ISBN List link is moved out of the drop-down and is now placed next to the Saved Search and Advanced Search links.

  • Added a vertical scroll bar to the “View previous orders” table.

  • Added handling for the character “œ” in search terms and indexes.
