What's New in BNC CataList?

A new look

We’ve updated the layout of the catalogue creation form so that it’s easier to see all of the ways you can add ISBNs to a catalogue.

These are the existing options:

• Paste in ISBNs or upload a file – All accounts can choose between pasting a list of ISBNs into a text box, or uploading an ISBN file.

• Select an existing catalogue – For custom catalogues, publishers can select one or more existing seasonal catalogues from their account to add those titles to their new custom catalogue.

Bulk-upload suggested quantities

When using the Upload option to create a custom catalogue or add ISBNs to an existing one, you can now upload an Excel file that includes both the ISBNs you wish to add and the suggested quantities for that ISBN.

Bulk-upload suggested quantities in three easy steps:

1. In your Excel or CSV file, include the ISBN in Column A, and the suggested quantity in Column B (review a sample file in the CataList Help Manual).

2. In the Upload option, browse for the ISBN file from your computer, then select the “This file includes suggested quantities” checkbox.

3. Finish creating or updating your catalogue.

Updated error and status messages

When you're adding ISBNs to a catalogue, our new error messages tell you exactly why an ISBN can’t be added.

For seasonal catalogues, we’ve included a new status message that lets you know if a title is new to CataList and would require a listing space to be added to the site.

Booksellers who are on CataList and are members of the Canadian Independent Booksellers Association (CIBA) can now use CataList to recommend titles for The Booksellers’ List.

When logged in, click the Recommend button next to any eligible title to vote for it. Learn more about recommending titles for The Booksellers’ List in our help manual.
