Validating Titles
Your trading partners will only accept ONIX schema-valid records, and Webform checks your records to ensure your files are ready for your partner's systems before you send them out into the wild blue yonder.
From the Entry Form
- Enter your title's metadata.
- Click the Validate button.
- If you see a message stating "This title is valid" then yay! Your record has passed schema validation.
- If not, then your record has not passed schema validation.
- See a full list of errors, which will tell you which fields need to be filled in or edited for the title to pass schema validation, by clicking on the Errors Summary section on the bottom left of the menu.
- Every section with an error will be highlighted in red, and every erroneous field within it is also highlighted in red. All such fields need to be filled in or edited for the title to pass schema validation.
- Once you have corrected the required fields, click the Validate button again.
- If all the errors were fixed and your record passes schema validation, remember to save the title or else your changes will not be saved.
From the Manage Titles Screen
All titles marked with a on the Manage Titles screen have not passed ONIX schema validation. To correct them:
- Generate an Error List to display all the errors for all titles in a catalogue by going to Actions > Generate error list for current search. An excel file with errors listed for all applicable titles will be downloaded.
- Click the pencil icon to the left of an invalid title in the Manage Titles screen.
- The Error Summary, or the sections highlighted in red, will tell you which fields need to be filled in or edited for the title to pass schema validation.
- Once you have corrected the required fields, click the Validate button.
- If all the errors were fixed, remember to save the title or else your changes will not be saved.
