A. No. SalesData is not a complete history of all sales of all books across Canada for all time. SalesData launched in October 2005 with a select retail panel that has grown and changed over time, much like the book marketplace as a whole. We currently track approximately 85% of print book sales in Canada.

Q. Does Amazon submit sales to SalesData?
Amazon.ca does submit weekly sales but we only receive a truncated version of their list, i.e., their top-selling titles. Due to contractual constraints, we cannot share how many titles we get on a weekly basis. We do not receive inventory (i.e., on-hand and on-order) data from them.
Q. What data do I have access to view?
A. Different account types have different views of the data. If you are a retailer, you will be able to see sales in your own market , as well as and aggregated sales in any peer groups you have access to and the All Market. If you are a publisher, distributor, sales agent, or librarian, you will have can access to aggregated sales in the All Market and any retailers you have a peer relationship with.

So, for example, if you're searching for months as a timeframe in a Market Share or Multi-ISBN report and you choose May as a year-over-year comparison month, each May will have a different number of weeks; May 2018 will have five weeks and May 2017 will have four weeks.
