For example, if an ISBN’s given suppression date was February 21, 2023:

Image Modified

The ISBN would be suppressed for Media Bestseller Lists using data from weeks-ending January 29, February 5, February 12 and February 19.

Bestseller Lists using data from Week-ending February 26 would be the first week where the ISBN is no longer suppressed (marked in green)

Media Bestseller Lists are generated based on data from the prior week. Lists published the week of February 27th-March 5th will use sales data for the week of February 20-26.

Q. How will I know I successfully submitted my Suppression Request?

...

A. You cannot make a change to a submitted Suppression Request. Instead, you will have to delete the existing approved Suppression by clicking “View/Edit” on the View Suppressed ISBNs page, and then clicking “Delete”. After the request has been deleted, you can then resubmit it with the new Suppression Date.

Q. If I add a book to a suppression list, would any sales logged before that date get rolled into the first week of sales?

A. No, pre-sales do not get rolled forward. In a Suppression Requests, the title is just prevented from appearing on Bestseller Lists before the selected suppression date.

Q. If I merge 2 ISBNs and want to suppress them from the media bestseller lists as well, do I have to submit suppression requests for both ISBNs?

A. At the very least you should submit a suppression request for the primary ISBN, as noted in your merge request. However, we also recommend that you submit suppression requests for both ISBNs so that all records are matched and up-to-date.
