We’ve made it easy for you to save all those searches you use regularly on CataList! You no longer have to enter the same search terms or parameters every time you search for books, catalogues, or ISBNs. Plus, we’re also displaying more data on the Title Detail page to help you gain more insight into each book’s contents and availability.

When you log in to your CataList account, click Saved Searches on the global navigation bar.

A pop-up with all your saved searches displays. If you haven’t saved any searches yet, simply start a search and click Save Search to try our new feature.

If you click one of your saved searches, it will automatically run that search. On the search results page, the name of the saved search displays in the left sidebar. If it’s an advanced search, the name will also be in the Advanced Search bar.

Tip

While you can save quick searches and advanced searches, any filtering that you apply to the search results using the options in the left sidebar won’t be saved. If you want those filters to be part of your saved search, you can include them in an advanced search.

Manage your saved searches

You can make changes to your saved search by clicking Manage Saved Searches when you’re on the search results page or choosing a search to run. On this page, you can edit, copy, delete, or run a search.

For book, catalogue, and ISBN searches, you can edit both the search name and the search term on this page.

Edit an advanced search

You can edit the name of an advanced search on the Manage Saved Searches page, but if you want to edit the search criteria, you must use the Advanced Search Form.

To access the Advanced Search Form from the Manage Saved Searches page, click Edit and then click Advanced Search Form to be directed to the form.

Accessibility and Stock Availability details

Other new features that we’re bringing to CataList are accessibility and stock availability details. If publishers supply this data to BiblioShare, CataList will now display that information on the Title Detail page.

Accessibility – When available, accessibility information is included in a new section beneath the cover image on the Title Detail page.

Stock Availability – When available, this information is included in the new Stock Availability section, which is by default collapsed. Expand the section to see the following information for the title:

  • Distributor Name

  • On Hand

  • Stock Quantity

  • Discount Code

  • Price

  • Last Updated

Info

Stock availability details are visible to Publisher, Retailer, Library, Sales Agent, and Wholesaler accounts. This feature is not available for titles that have a publication date of more than 60 days in the future.
